In an exclusive interview with Bossa Magazine, Thalma answered a variety of questions and gave us the highlights of her professional life.
Thalma, when and why did you start playing?
There’s an old tape recording of me making up a song when I was like 2 or 3, playing around with my father, the pianist, composer, arranger and producer, Laercio de Freitas I was born into a musical environment.
Which artist inspired you the most growing up? Were you influenced by foreign music?
Caetano Veloso’s songwriting, his bold and elegant singing style and Ella Fitzgerald’s musical skills are two of the most influential in my teens, I learned so much just listening to them over and over!
